What a difference from yesterday...yesterday we were on the brink of Baseball Playoff Anarchy...today, though not set, the picture is a lot clearer.

A's outlasted Rangers...meaning A's clinched a playoff spot (if you couldn't tell by that celebration) and the Angels and Rays were eliminated.  Not sure who else was up, but there was a great shot from MLB Network of the Angels reactions on the field when it was announced.  I started laughing...seriously, because it was just like that guy who always acts like he is Mr. Perfect, but then when something goes wrong the face is "Eh, Really I didn't want to Play in the Playoffs."  TOOLS!!!!!!!!  Enjoy your money Albert and CJ!!!!

A's won 4-3...

...A's were in a must-win situation. Rangers are not...yet

...A's had their current ace on the mound, Rangers had their #6 starter

...A's HAVE TO WIN BOTH REMAINING GAMES, Rangers still have to win just 1...true it was 1 of 3, now 1 of 2, but that doesn't change the fact it is still just ONE GAME.

Matt Harrison vs. Travis Blackley

5 days ago...Harrison struggled through 6 innings and 4 runs against the A's, Texas won 9-7.  Blackley finished 1 inning, 5 runs...he has failed to pitch in the 2nd inning in back-to-back starts.

In their last 10 games, A's are 7-1 when Blackley does NOT start, and 0-2 when he does.  Does that mean this win is a lock, ABSOLUTELY NOT.  I fully expect Blackley (the A's equivalent of Perez) to bring it tonight.  Texas has confidence they can hit him, but not expecting another 5-run first inning.  I'm ok with it...but I do think Blackley pitches a little better now that he is back home.  Same subject, different pitcher...Harrison struggled with almost all his pitches against the A's last time...fully expect for us to see 18-game winner Harrison tonight.  He has been absolutely NAILS on the road and tonight is once again in a pitcher's ballpark.

I could overreact like too many...

I could talk about how the A's momentum will carry them into the West, like all the national media...

I could comment on the A's champagne celebration last night and potential hangover...

I could worry about the Ranger hitters, especially the ones batting 1-3-4-5...

I could fret...

I could sweat...

I could gradually raise my B/P all day...

OR...I can remember...it's really as simple as...Win the Game, Win the West
