Rangers third baseman Michael Young has told Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News he is now willing to move to designated hitter to allow the team to sign free agent Adrian Beltre.

Young told Grant: "I want to do what I need to do stay with this team. I'm proud to be part of this team and I want to be here."

Young was considered the main sticking point in the Rangers attempts to sign Beltre and his willingness to move to another role is a strong indication the club could be close to a deal with Beltre.

According to MLB.com Rangers GM Jon Daniels and Beltre's agent Scott Boras resumed serious talks late Monday evening with the goal of completing a deal.
